Neches River
The Neches river below the Lake Palestine spillway flows over a low water bridge onto a rock shelf. It then flows over a ledge with a bad hydraulic when exposed, finally funneling between rock banks before it goes flat. It makes for some interesing rapids for about 100 yards.
The level is 346.45 elevation on the lake, pool elevation is 345. 3000 cfs
This park and play spot, known as Blackburn Rapid, is located between Jacksonville and Frankston in east Texas, Anderson/ Cherokee county line 20 miles south of Tyler.
