Big Eagle (Eagle Fork) Creek

The Eagle fork of the Mountain Fork of the Little River begins in Le Flore County Oklahoma and flows south into Mc Curtain county, just west of Hwy 259. It is a small stream dropping 35 down to 15 fpm over the 12 miles. The run is mostly class II twisting shoals with occaisonal ledges and a few class III rapids thrown in. The run can be broken into 3 sections, slab west of 259 to Octavia Hwy (there are 2 low head dams on the 3.5 mile run). Octavia to low water bridge, 4.5 miles, and lwb to the Iron bridge just below hwy 259, 5 miles.

These pictures are of the run from Octavia to the Iron Bridge and feature Kathy Miller, Joe Miller, Melba Miller and the nose of my boat. June  24, 2000.
