The Blue River

The Blue is just east of lake Texoma,11.5 miles west of Wapanucka. The river is unusual in that it flows over solid granite as it drops off a plateau at a rate of 20 to 70 fpm for 15 miles or so.The river is basically waterfall, pool, fall, pool in nature. In a short distance I saw falls up to six feet. There are supposedly several 6 ft falls, two reportedly 8 and 12 ft. The flow in these shots is 20-30 cfs.Historical gage data show that the river is runnable often in the rainy season.
